IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Depends on how close you are and if your heart is worn on your sleeve. Unwanted physical affection is going to be physically avoided if she can help it, though as long as your relationship with her is positive she isn't going to be against the occasional hug or kiss on the cheek. She might even reciprocate.


PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Given the job Motoko performs, this is inevitable. As a player, I am all for physical violence of all levels though do remember to slap down a TW if things get too above and beyond. It's important to note that Motoko's body is 100% prosthetic and she has been known to change bodies from time to time, meaning that any damage inflicted on her body could theoretically be repaired so long as her consciousness is left in-tact.


RELATIONSHIPS: I am a complete and utter slut for shipping, but crackpairs aren't super my bag and if we don't play out the full chemistry I want there to be some pre-established CR. The way I play Motoko is a light blend of her original manga and SAC selves, leaning more into the latter than the former, meaning that she isn't against the occasional fling... but anything more serious than that is going to take some plot development.


PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Breaking into Motoko's mind is more than a little tricky, given that she is an exceptionally accomplished hacker able to detect threats from a mile away. Coming from a cyberpunk world, however, she has virtually no protection against things such as spells or the effects of potions, only able to defend herself from anything that may constitute as "hacking" of some kind or another. As far as I'm comfortable with having Motoko mentally messed with as a player, I'd prefer us to discuss it if it gets to be something too heavy but if it's just for the sake of a single kink or something like a comical voice in her head then you don't need to ask about it.


MAGICAL INFORMATION: N/A, as there isn't anything inherently "magical" about her.


MEDICAL INFORMATION: Motoko's entire body is prosthetic, with only her brain and part of her spinal column left in-tact. While her cyborg body is a "civilian model", she is chock full of so many mods and cybernetics, many of them military grade, that she's a walking, talking, shooting Ace in the Hole. Despite this, she is still made of (artificial) flesh and bone, so to speak. Injuries will still debilitate her, and enough damage to her head could crush her artificial skull and destroy the brain housed within. She is shown numerous times through her canon losing limbs and being fine once she was repaired later, but losing a leg or an arm does tend to lower your ability to defend yourself and she is shown bleeding just like anyone else.


OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Motoko is ordinarily a fairly cool, calm and composed individual... but if children are involved, she can snap in a second. Having a traumatic past that revolves around being cyberized at a young age means that Motoko takes any forms of violence or ill will against children sensitively. Harm a child in front of her and she'll fly off the handle in a second. Another trigger that Motoko has are situations that make her feel utterly helpless, such as when she got royally thrashed around by the leader of a gang of mooks and could do nothing but experience it. Furious at the mook screaming to be let out of the mech suit he was piloting because he felt trapped Motoko let loose on him with an anti-tank rifle, showcasing a hidden PTSD-like side to her. These two are the only triggers Motoko has, ordinarily holding a great deal of willpower and courage.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: Motoko has a large slew of outfits she can wear at any given time, whether a swap of clothing or an entire prosthetic body. The features that remain the same from body to body are her dark purple hair and red eyes. Every last aspect of Motoko's body otherwise can be modified, ranging from her height to even down to minute details such as her fingernail length and three sizes. Note that unless otherwise stated Motoko's default outfit is her most common, as she does not need to worry about ordinary human inhibitions such as temperatures.


AURAL: Motoko is voiced by Atsuko Tanaka in Japanese (barring Arise) and in SAC by both Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Alison Matthews in English. All of these VA imo capture Motoko's uniquely tomboyish sound, with hints of both femininity and masculinity in her speech. You can choose whichever of the two you lean into more in your head, though I personally lean closer to Atsuko myself. Nostalgia says McGlynn though


OLFACTORY: (TBD)


DEMEANOUR: Varies depending on if Motoko is on the job or off it. Because this version of Motoko is a blend of her original manga and SAC appearances, more the latter than the former, while "on the clock" she is an exceptionally competent yet stoic leader of a team of operatives, with her more vibrant and lively team contrasting with her more no-nonsense, work oriented personality. When "off the clock" Motoko is a vibrant, vivacious, playful person herself, though it's never overblown and more subtle. She tends to wear a slightly happy-go-lucky attitude as a mask to hide her inner demons, of which there are several.
